SO I am currently sitting on my couch, wine in hand, Olympics on in the background, Lucy purring beside me...ready to catch up -- as long as my eyes can stay open (tired as hell today - had a HUGE event at work - which I will explain later on in the entry or in a "to be continued" entry)--- My god I can't believe how much has happened in such a short period of time.. .NOOOO I am married...NOOOO I am not pregnant (ummm...I don't think)...YESSSS I did meet a boy(s)...NOOOO I am not in love...OFFFFF COURSE He is NUTTTSSSS do I meet any other damn kind....Ok, that was enough foreshadowing...lets start from the sweet part...
The weekend before my Birthday my parents took me up to Duluth for the Maritime festival - we toured tall ships, eat on the beach, climbed rocks, hiked, hung out and over all had an awesome relaxing weekend - it is the first birthday in 8 years that I have spent with both of my parents at the same time in my home state...pretty crazy. Here is a little photo journey:

Then came my actually Birthday ---landing on a Tuesday of all days. Unfortunately this particular Tuesday was "national night out day" -- OK, I have lived in various places in my life and have NEVER heard of this. Supposedly MN has the highest membership -- this is the night where you gather with your neighbors and have a barbecue and play games and meet the local cops and fireman and all the crap -- and seeing that most of my friends are married, have kids and own houses this was an evening they had committed to months ago and were in charge of some particular aspect of the festivities like charcoal-- so needless to say there was no one to go out with....well, I, of course, cured that problem with a couple of quick phone calls and had some workmates to drink with by the end of the day.
The evening started rather innocent...(oh--wait let me take you back in time...the Thursday before my bday weekend I went on a random motorcycle ride - for THREE HOURS - hello Ouch - with a man who lives in the building next to me...but after he drunk dialing me at 2am in the morning over my bday weekend I believe he was too embarrassed to hang out again) Ok - so that was a relevant story because I was texting him to hang out the night of my bday and was once again depressed by the male race because he didn't even know what Improv was -- so maybe I didn't need to bring him up -- oh well -- anyway 2 Manhattans later my friend Georgina (I used to go to school with her at Depaul, lived in the same building in Chicago, ran into her in Brooklyn, and now ran into her HERE where she now lives -- crazy)...so she shows up with a gift and bottle of wine.
We proceed to leave the bar and go and talk by the river. After drinking a good amount of the wine (wrapped in an elegant target bag - hello trailer trash) we started back to the Guthrie. As we walked under the famous stone arch bridge a man suddenly came repelling down the side -- hello freaky!!! I was of course immediately intrigued and found out in a very short period of time that he was teaching climbing to the young female student that I hadn't notice was plastered to the side of the bridge beside me.
OK -- It was immediate attraction and within a VERY short period of time he was asking "little ole me" out for a drink -- about this time my friend said she had to go home and the other climber decided to go as well (seeing she was getting nothing from him that evening...it wasn't her bday)...So it was just "the climber" and me....
The night went on --- we talked each others ears off, couldn't keep our eyes off each other and eventually, yes, one thing lead to another and I took him home - OHHH come on --- give me a break -- I had not been with a man since December 9th in Uruguay! Nothing more to say at this time...I guess sometimes I need to learn when to stop sharing...
I love you all - I miss you:
Roh -- give the family a kiss -- kick up your running shoes ( I am still trying for the marathon, even though I fell off the wagon the past week).
Kristen -- have a wonderful time in Texas -- How is the belly --- what a beauty!
Kathrine -- Hey woman, where are ya? Give my love to the family!!!
