Poop - I can't do the 7th...I actually have a date!

Ok, pick your jaw up! I am trying not to jinx this one -- but I am sure I will be a flood of information if it goes well. I will leave it saying.. he is renting a car and driving up from Chicago to take me to dinner...and I only met him last Monday...he is really nice, well adjusted, funny as all hell, kind, attentive and I think he likes me...crazy. That is all I will say for now so as not to set the universe in motion to sabotage it.

SO, is there any way to move it to say the 8th? Or I might beable to swing the 6th?

My Mom comes back from India tonight. I can't wait to see her! I am so proud of her adventures -- she has seen some crazy shit that is for sure. I am meeting her at the airport tonight.

Ok - my lovely people - I miss you - Roh stay cool (which isn't hard for you dude:) -- Kathy and Kristen stay warm (I hear there is a hell of a storm out East - not sure if NYC is in it or not).

AND please everyone put out positive energy that this date thingy goes well. I kinda like him...

Postponement?

Melbourne is in the middle of its worst heatwave for 100 years. By Sunday we will have had five consecutive days of over 105 degrees. Yesterday it was 110 degrees. I walked down our street at 5pm and there was a north wind blowing and it was like walking into a hair dryer. No exaggeration. The computer is in the hottest room in the house and when hot it makes a noise like an aircraft at take-off. Sitting here for an hour or two in the middle of the day will be rather unpleasant. Therefore, I would like to postpone the Skype chat for a week. Also, if we have it on Saturday night US time you will be able to see the kids. So I propose Saturday February 7 at 8pm New York time. Is that ok?

What a week!!! Sorry I fell off the site - I have been busy at work - actually getting a social life - and flirting via email with a guy I met...I am not going to jinx myself on this one...so that is all I will say...

So - Yeah Obama!!! yeah social life starting!!! yeah cold is ALMOST away!!! Yeah, rohan has a new microphone!!!

So when are we trying another call folks? anyone look into how to have it be a 3-way (heheeh) or a 4-way (hehehe)! I know we got my microphone finally working last time and Kathy and I had a very successful hour chat even being able to see eachother -- it was so surreal and cool -- don't you think Kath?

Ok - I have to make this a quick note - I have invited people over tonight for my first "game night" - we are going to play Balderdash - should be fun!

I Got In

Today the University of Melbourne offered me a place in its Master of Teaching program, learning to teach math and history. And I got a Commonwealth Assisted Place which means the government pays more than half of my tuition because Education is a "National Priority." Rejoice and celebrate!

So are we on for tonight? Here are some potential logistical problems on my end. My internet service sometimes just decides to not work -- so that could be a problem. I can't find my microphone so I am picking one up after work. I called Kathy last night and left a message -- hopefully you got it. One last thing...I don't have anyones skype phone name so I have been unable to get you in my contacts to call. Here is mine lily.shaw99. Ok - I hope this works. OH - I have to hook up my camera too! I really look forward to talking to all!

We've been talking about Skype for months now. When is it going to happen? I vote for a Friday or Saturday night US time. We are sixteen hours ahead of New York. How about 8pm on a Friday night New York time, which is 7pm Minnesota time. Now, someone pick a convenient Friday.
